Quiz United

Privacy Policy

Last updated 7 November 2026

In short: Quiz United has no accounts and we don’t collect your name, email or contacts. Your progress and stats stay on your phone. The app downloads football news questions from our server, and shows ads from Google, which uses data as described below and only personalises ads when you agree.

Who we are

Quiz United is a football quiz app made by Håkon Bergland Brugård, an independent developer, who is responsible for the processing described here (the “data controller”). Contact: privacy@quizunited.app.

Data that stays on your device

The app saves the following only on your phone, so you can pick up where you left off. We never receive it, and deleting the app deletes it:

Downloading news questions

To get new football news questions, the app downloads files from our server, which is hosted by Cloudflare. As with any website, the request reveals your IP address and basic technical information (such as the app making the request). We don’t use this to identify you or build a profile; Cloudflare processes it to deliver and protect the service, as described in Cloudflare’s privacy policy. We rely on our legitimate interest in providing the app’s content.

Advertising (Google AdMob)

The free version of the app shows ads from Google AdMob. To show ads, measure them and prevent fraud, Google’s software in the app may collect your IP address, an advertising or device identifier, approximate location derived from your IP address, and information about how you interact with ads. This is Google’s processing, described in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services and Google’s privacy policy.

Purchases

If you buy Quiz United Pro, the payment is handled entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We never see your payment details; we only learn that the purchase is active, so the app can remove ads and restore the purchase on your other devices.

Sharing your results

When you tap Share, the app passes a short text with your score and a link to our website to your phone’s share menu. Where it goes is up to you; we don’t see it.

Links and photos

Photo credits and question sources open web pages (for example Wikimedia Commons) in your browser. Those sites have their own privacy policies.

What we don’t do

Children

Quiz United is a general-audience app and is not directed at children under 13. We don’t knowingly collect personal data from children.

Your rights

Under the GDPR and similar laws you can ask for access to, correction or deletion of your personal data, object to processing and withdraw consent. As we don’t hold personal data about you ourselves, most requests concern Google’s ad processing: you can withdraw ad consent in the app at any time, and Google explains how to exercise your rights with it in its privacy policy. You’re welcome to contact us at privacy@quizunited.app, and you have the right to complain to a data protection authority; in Norway, that is Datatilsynet.

Changes to this policy

If the app starts handling data differently, we’ll update this page and the date at the top before the change takes effect.
